Dix parties en un volume, in-folio oblong (42 × 29,5), (10) ff. typographie, cinquante planches (numérotées 51 à 100, dont imprimées en couleurs. Planches marbrées à dos de veau avec lettres dorées sur le dos.

RARE SUR LE MARCHÉ. Ouvrage monumental sur la peinture murale pompéienne, publié sur une période de trente et un ans, et rarement rencontré complet ou dans un état de conservation acceptable. Après le retour de Wilhelmina Zahn de Naples en 1831, il commença à publier à Berlin son troisième ouvrage, Ornamente aller klassischen Kunstepochen nach den Originalen in ihren eigenthümlichen Farben dargestellt , en utilisant le corpus de dessins qu'il avait rassemblé lors de ses visites en Italie. - Quelques rousseurs et brunissements modérés. Certains bords sont usés le long des bords et des joints de la reliure
