Hand-coloured aquatints (12) of children by Geofroi Mind engr. by [Ernst] Rauch mounted on printed titled brown art paper all but one with diamond or oval embossed blindstamp L.(Lamy) or JPL.

Oblong quarto red roan with green diamond shaped onlay gilt, marbled slip case.

Large engraved label of Lamy laid down on free endpaper.

Title Page with stipple engraved vignette of Mind and his cat at work +[2]pp foreword +[6]pp life of Mind +12 plates mounted within rules (aquatint with exquisite hand colour).

One of a set of four independent volumes, each in a similar vein. This being the last and most scarce.

Swiss artist Gottfried Mind (1768-1814) was an autistic savant who was widely known as 'der Katzen-Raffael' (the Raphael of cats).
