Published on behalf of the Zurich engraver and publisher Heinrich Füssli, only a very small edition was issued with scenes from Swiss history in excellent aquatint representations. The work appeared in six issues between 1812 and 1822 and accompanied with a German text; the captions are in German.
Issued over 8 years, there is some foxing and staining, mostly to the margins.
