The Industrial Revolution comes to Berne

Sammlungen von landwirthschaftlichen Dingen der Schweitzerischen Gesellschaft in Bern

8vo. Complete set, 1760-1773. Economic Society of Berne. Uniformly bound with numerous engravings and tables. Partly with engraved title pages.

The Economic Society of Bern was founded in 1759. It still exists today, but since 1890 under the name Economic and Non-Profit Society of the Canton of Bern.

Just like the numerous other economic partnerships that were founded throughout Europe in the second half of the 18th century, the society in Berne set about the dissemination of "useful knowledge" with regard to reforms in economy, society and politics. In this far-reaching agricultural and social reform movement, the Bernes Economical Society was one of the most important players.

The treatises/mémoires were published between 1760 and 1773, here complete with all engravings, tables and registers.
