This fine almanac was founded and edited by Gottlieb Jakob Kuhn, Johann Rudolf Wyss and Ludwig Meisner, who immigrated from Germany, was published 1811-30 annually by Burgdorfer in Bern.

The driving force behind the first phase was Wyss, who brought together the then important authors (including Johann Conrad Appenzeller, Ulrich Hegner, David Hess, Johann Martin Usteri, Johann Gaudenz von Salis-Seewis) and illustrators (including Usteri, Gabriel Lory [Père], Sigmund Freudenberger , Ludwig Vogel and Martin Disteli) and thus gave the almanac national significance.

Excellent overall condition.
