Complete series of the magazine published in Biel for instruction and entertainment. Weingart (1797 - 1878) was a teacher and radical politician and co-editor of the political magazine "Die Junge Schweiz". In 1835 Weingart lost his position as a teacher in Biel for political reasons. He was employed by Johann Rudolf Schneider, the promoter of the Jura water correction, as head of the Schneider book printing shop. The topics of the contributions were deliberately placed outside of political events and were primarily aimed at schools and non-profit associations, covering travel, natural sciences, history of Switzerland and much more.
