Andrea Schiavone (after)

Zara? [Zadar?], ca. 1510 – Venice, 1563

The Theatrum is a very rare portfolio of etching held Imperial Gallery of Paintings in Vienna and was published in 1728.

Here in the fine variant with separately engraved decorative border.

Andrea Meldolla (Croatian: Andrija Medulić), also known as Andrea Schiavone or Andrea Lo Schiavone (c. 1510/15–1563) was an Italian Renaissance painter and etcher, born in present-day Croatia, active mainly in the city of Venice. His style combined Mannerist elements, a relative rarity in Venice, with much influence from the mainstream of Venetian painting, especially Titian.
