Neujahrsblatt, der Aargauischen Jugend geweiht.

9 New Years pamphlets (all published).

Brugger Bezirksgesellschaft für vaterländische Cultur, 1819-1829

Each pamphlet ca 40 pp. with a fine copper engraved topographical vignette (highly prized). In addition, the set contains a total of 6 full page copper engravings and 1 lithographed plate. Collation of plates seems to vary between the few extant examples. Our copy appears to lack 1 lithographed plate. All pamphlets with the original printed wrappers bound in. Marbled boards. - Very good overall condition. Minor shaving to right margin.

No complete set in OCLC. Brief description of the content as follows:

1819: Description and transformations of the Königsfelden monastery. 1820: Helvetia's prehistory. 1821: Vindonissa, or Helvetia under the Romans. 1822: Old Helvetia populated by German tribes. 1825: Aargau's history under the German emperors and Burgundian kings from Charlemagne to Rudolf von Habsburg. 1826: History of the houses of Lenzburg and Habsburg up to Emperor Rudolf I. 1827: Aargau’s church and moral history up to Rudolf von Habsburg. 1828: Aargau’s church and moral history up to Rudolf von Habsburg (confusion). 1829: History of the monastery of Muri.
