Rare and more attractive edition of Kjaerböllings "Icones ornithologiae Scandinavicae" which had been first published between 1847-56. The plates are numbered 1-53, 22, 33, 40 and 51b, 28 b and c, in addition to 48 supplementary plates. "The subscribers were later to receive gratis a new edition of the text revised by J. Collin, who also undertook the issue of the plates" (Anker).
Rare complete example with the extremely scarce last supplement plate that was only issued in 1888.
Some age toning and spotting. Minor edge wear here and there. Attractive hand colour on firm card.
