Exquisite gouache on fine velin paper.

Undated and unsigned but completed between 1800 and 1830.

Manuscript title to foot, ‘Garcinia sp.’  And numbered ‘10’.

Garcinia is a genus of flowering plants in the family Clusiaceae native to Asia, America, Australia, tropical and southern Africa, and Polynesia. Commonly, the plants in this genus are called saptrees, mangosteens (which may also refer specifically to Garcinia mangostana), or garcinias, and is one of several plants known as by the name "monkey fruit".

Excellent condition with very minor light fading to outer margins.

Signature ‘Fremantle 62’ to verso.
