Scarce celestial map from Johnston's Atlas of Astronomy, based on the information supplied by Professor Grant of the Glasgow Observatory, Warren De La Rue President of the Royal Astronomical Society of London and Padre Secchi Director of the Observatory of the Collegio Romano.
Johnston was a Scottish cartographer educated the University of Edinburgh. He was apprenticed to the Edinburgh engraver and mapmaker, James Kirkwood.
