George Engelmann (2 February 1809 to 4 February 1884) was a German-American botanist. He was instrumental in describing the flora of the west of North America. He was particularly active in the Rocky Mountains and northern Mexico.

First edition of "one of the most significant of all government reports on western and southern Texas" (Jenkins).

Some age spotting as usual to plates, heavier to a few. Text light browned.
