£110.00

Johann Heinrich Lips (29 April 1758, in Kloten – 5 May 1817, in Zürich) was a Swiss copper engraver; mostly of portraits.

Extremely rare folio portrait of Catherine the Great, similar in style to that after Vigilius Eriksen (1722-82) held in the Royal Collection Trust.

Catherine II, most commonly known as Catherine the Great, was the last reigning Empress Regnant of Russia and the country's longest-ruling female leader. She came to power following the overthrow of her husband and second cousin, Peter III.
