Captivating edition of Aesop's Fables, in the extremely rare First Edition. It is apparently one of three volumes, but seemingly complete in itself with fifty fables, here illustrated with a double-page plate and fifty engravings by J.C Haffner after designs by Ägidius Sadeler. The fables are numbered 1 through 50, although seemingly the second collection.
Condition: Some age toning to text, occasional trimming when bound. One plate with tear along fold.
