1660 Abraham BLOEMAERT - Emblem with PUTTI - FOLIO - Master Engraving

$55.00 Dollar

Superb in-folio master engraving after the Dutch painter Abraham Bloemaert and engraved by his son Frederik Bloemaert (ca 1614 - 11 June 1690).

Abraham Bloemaert (1566 - 27 January 1651) was a Dutch painter and printmaker in etching and engraving. He was one of the "Haarlem Mannerists" from about 1585, but in the new century altered his style to fit new Baroque trends.

This fine engraving comes from the extremely scarce work 'T eerste Deel van de Teekenkonst' (Frederik de Wit: Amsterdam, ca. 1650-1680) which was completed by Bloemaert's son Frederik from his father's original designs.

Folio leaf: 30.5 x 29.7 cm.

Some age toning to margins.
