1719 Map of Staten Island and the Island of Maurice, Mallet, hand coloured, map

Bird's eye view of "Isle des Etats ou Staten-Eyland and Isle Maurice" (State Island or Staten Island and the Island of Maurice). Staten Island does not refer to the American Staten Island; rather, it is the former name of Iturup, one of the Kuril Islands.  Island of Maurice is a nearby island.
